1993 Infiniti G20 battery light stay on

I started my car. Is started right up. The battery light came on while I was driving. I turned the car off but it would not start when I tryed to start it up after a while. I jumped the cor and it started up. I drove about a mile and the car stoped. I jumped the car again but it would not run. The car truned of when I tryed to start in. I put a new battery in the car but the battery light will not go off. The nwe battery is starting the car but the battery light will not go off. Someone told me there is a fuse under the hood that will keep the battery light on but I can not fine the fuse. Could you tell me how to find the fuse. Could something other then this could cause this problem.
