I just bought a new battery, and, on my dashboard, it says increase battery discharge. I checked my alternator. My alternator is good. I’m having trouble figuring the problem out.

Hi ADRIANNA96,

Do you know if the battery sensor was reset after the new battery was installed?

If you are not sure you can try this procedure and see if it gets rid of the issue.

1. Start by turning the ignition key of your BMW car to the accessory position. Ensure that the lights and radio are on. It’s important to do this before starting the vehicle.
2. Locate the “Trip” button on the instrument panel of your BMW. Press and hold this button until you see a red light illuminate.
3. Release the “Trip” button momentarily, and then press and hold it again. Keep holding until you see the word “Reset” appear on the instrument cluster.
4. Finally, press the “Trip” button for the third time. The BMW computer will now reset, and the process will be completed.

Thank you,
Brendon
