I know it's got high mileage and I understand trying to build a car with no aftermarket can get expensive, I know there are cars out there worth building more than mine but I just want to have fun with it. I'm looking for simple parts that add gains that aren't major as well as parts that get rid of parasitic drag, all without getting rid of the reliability aspect of it. I just want the 210hp advertised getting to the wheels, maybe a little more. I appreciate all feedback.

If you're looking to improve the performance of your 2000 Toyota Avalon without sacrificing reliability, there are a few modifications you can consider. While these modifications may not provide major horsepower gains, they can help optimize your engine's efficiency and reduce parasitic drag:

Cold air intake: Installing a cold air intake can improve airflow to the engine, resulting in a slight increase in horsepower. It allows cooler air to enter the engine, which can enhance combustion efficiency. Look for a high-quality intake that is specifically designed for your Avalon model.

Performance exhaust system: Upgrading to a performance exhaust system can reduce exhaust backpressure, allowing the engine to breathe more freely. This can result in a small horsepower gain and a more aggressive sound. Choose a system that is designed to provide performance gains without excessive noise or drone.

Lightweight wheels: Replacing your factory wheels with lightweight aftermarket wheels can reduce unsprung weight, which can improve acceleration, handling, and fuel efficiency. Make sure to select wheels that are compatible with your Avalon's specifications and consider using high-quality performance tires for optimal grip.

High-performance spark plugs and ignition wires: Upgrading to high-performance spark plugs and ignition wires can improve ignition efficiency, leading to better combustion and potentially a slight increase in horsepower. Look for plugs and wires designed for improved performance and longevity.

Performance air filter: Replacing the stock air filter with a high-performance air filter can increase airflow to the engine, improving throttle response and potentially adding a small amount of horsepower. Opt for a reputable brand that offers both filtration efficiency and increased airflow.

It's important to note that while these modifications can provide some performance gains, they may not be significant, especially considering the age and mileage of your vehicle. Additionally, it's crucial to ensure that any modifications you make are compatible with your car's engine management system and do not compromise its reliability or longevity.
