My buddy was needing to replace his shift linkage, when I got there the whole dash was taken off, including the old ignition lock. I got the shift linkage In fairly easy, but when I was putting the lock back in, it wouldn’t fully go in, and the key is stuck in the "on" position.

Hi Zach,

This is pretty common when the ignition is not in the correct position. You need to turn the key to the "run" position and it should sit back down fully. Here is the procedure to remove and install it. #3 is the step you want to pay attention to because this tells you how to remove it and to install it, you just do the same procedure backwards.

This has caught me a couple times. Just make sure the key is in the "run" position then you may need to jiggle it a little just to get it to sit back in there.

Let me know if this doesn't help and we can come up with something else. Thanks
