Engine cranks but does not start after replacing the ignition lock cylinder?

I replaced the ignition lock cylinder and the keys that came with it will turn the car over but won’t run.

Hi,

If you replaced the key cylinder, that means you have a new key. If it isn't programmed to be recognized, the engine won't start. See pic 1 below.

In this case, either the vehicle's immobilizer needs to be programmed to recognize the new key. That will require either a locksmith or a dealership.

Let me know if the programming has been done or not.

Hi,

That is the issue. Are you able to get it taken care of? Also, just FYI, it is usually less expensive to have it done by a locksmith, but you would need to check where you are located.
