Will not start after replacing the ignition lock cylinder?

I installed a new switch but when I go to crank it nothing happens, I tried to jump the starter and it cranks up, then shuts right off. I did notice that this is broken, but I don't know what it is.

Hi,

I have a couple of questions. First, is the security light staying on when the key is in the run position? Also, what part is broken? Could you upload a pic and attach it here so I can see it?

If the security light is staying on steady or flashing, try this. Turn the key to the run position and wait approximately 10 minutes to see if it turns off. If it does, then see if it will start.
