My key fob got wet so I dried it out and when I put the fob in the ignition it won't turn. The last time this happened it was because the heater fan fuse blew, I checked the fuses none of them are blown but the fuses under the passenger seat got wet. Also, what can be the problem with the car the key fob works? Also, I had to replace the gear shifter do you need to reprogram the key if you change the gear shifter?

The fob sounds like it has a battery that is no good, they do not like water. Here is how you can replace the battery with a new key fob which should fix the problem. There is also a way to check the fob which I have included as well. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Ahh, okay, it sounds like the shifter itself is having a problem. Here are the instructions on how to replace the shifter and there is no mention of any reprogramming so it must be purely mechanical. Please check out the diagrams below. I would disassemble the shifter to see if there is something not right about the installation.
