Car does not want to idle and when I keep the revs high it idles, but when I leave the revs and it is going lower it quits running. I also replaced the fuel pump and the carburetor is serviced. I thought it was the carburetor or the fuel pump. It is still not idling.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Most often, what you described is caused by an engine vacuum leak. I have to be honest, this model wasn't offered in the US, so I have no technical information specific to it. What size engine is it? You mention it has a carburetor. Are you sure it isn't fuel injected?

Regardless, here is a link that discusses how to check for engine vacuum leaks. If in fact it has a carburetor, let me know. Also, if it does, there should be a curb idle speed adjuster on or near the throttle.

Here is the link I mentioned. Let me know if it helps.
