Idling it would reminds you of bad gas

My Camry is spitting and spuddering, but not all the time probably 80% of the time.

It could be bad gas, however try checking the fuel pressure to see if it is within specs and check the airflow meter.

Do what the last post said and also check for codes, not all codes will set a MIL.

Have you done a tune up lately? Bad spark plug can definitely cause this problem especially with that kind of mileage on the engine. Please check the plugs and get back to me.
