I want to change the exhaust. Is there any effect on fuel consumption?

I want to upgrade the exhaust from stock, to get a louder sound from the car. Would there be nay effect on fuel consumption or performance of the car? And could you recommend a good exhaust.

As for fuel economy it will not really help as the engine is designed to get the best economy with the stock system, and it meets emission and noise level laws. As for a recommendation. The factory system will be better than just about anything you can buy as a replacement.
