I have no power to my starter

As I was driving to work one day everything in my car all the lights on the dash the AC the radio started flickering everything turns back on I go maybe two hundred more feet and my car dies smoke started coming from under the hood my starter died so I bought a new starter and connected incorrectly and everything and my car doesn't want to start so I ran a wire from the red side which is the positive side I ran the wire from the battery directly to the starter and a crank once on the Sunday I turned it off put the motor mount back on put the motor back motor mount and motor mount bracket back on and it doesn't want to turn back on all my fuses are good all the lights inside my car turn on the dashboard turns on the AC turns on the radio turns on I just can't get my car to crank I put a computer to it and I got a hold of p2206 which says something about a fuel sensor I don't think that has anything to do with why the car won't crank but that's what I came up with I really do need some help I'm about to lose my job so I need to get this car running if someone can please help me out and tell me something other than you know putting new components on the battery which I have an inner checking all the wires and make sure nothing short about there's no exposed wires I don't know what steps to take next

Try resetting security system if no ;manual look online for your car
