I recently started hearing a slight grinding noise from my passenger rear brake, today I got a very spongy and soft brake pedal and when I stopped I would hear this almost air rushing sound what could be wrong? I heard the sound from around the rear passenger tire

Are you mechanically inclined? Have you inspected the rear brakes for problems or fluid loss? Let me know and we'll go from here.

Ensure there is no air within the brake system. If the brake pedal is still spongy then I would recommend pinching off all the brake hoses (with a suitable tool that won't cause damage to the hose) to identify if the master cylinder is at fault. This procedure is not always acceptable because of the risk of damaging the brake hoses. Unless you have the proper diagnostic tools & equipment, its one of the only ways to narrow down why the brake pedal is spongy.

Does this noise only happen when braking or all time? Does the noise change in intensity with increased speed? Did the noise happen after the repairs were made or some drive time was put in before the noise started?
