I can't find any leaks, added bar's leaks last night to the radiator just in case, hoses appear to be fine. How do I tell if it is my thermostat or waterpump? It runs fine for about 5 miles, then starts to really overheat, and my heat starts to blow cold. I pull over, let it cool, add more antifreeze and am fine for another 5 miles. It is cold here, temps only in the low teens.
Thanks!

Hello â€

Thanks for the info. . .. . .. . .

Do you see any visible leaks at all. . .. . ...from the water pump.

Do you see any visible leaks around the heads or exhaust.

Do you have white smoke coming from the exhaust pipe.

Pull a couple of plugs and see if you can see coolant

Check your oil level. . ..has it gone up and is milky

I don’t think it is your thermostat as your car runs fine as long as you have coolant.

The same with your heater. . .. . .it blows cold due to lack of coolant.

You have to be losing coolant somewhere and you may have a blown head gasket. If you are losing that much coolant that quick it is either running out or going out the tail pipe.

Is the passenger floorboard wet?
