2000 Hyundai Tiburon stops running at a half a tank of gas

My 2000 tiburon hyundai runs fine when the gas tank is full of gas, however once the fuel goes below a half a tank the car stalls and does not run. It starts and runs once I refill it with gas. What is causining this? What needs to be replaced in order for me to run my car intil it's almost on empty.

If I had to guess, I would say the fuel pump sock has collected enough dirt to plug it at a certain level, or it has come apart in the tank and not collecting fuel after a certain level. If you are sure you are not getting fuel to the engine when this happens, you need to remove the fuel tank and pump to determine what exactly is the problem.
