2007 Hyundai Sonata

My engine locked up, I think. Oil is now sludge. Wife never changed oil when I instructed her to. Now it wont turn over. How do I know if its locked up? Im hoping there is a safety feature that stops the engine from blowing.

Hi there,

There is no safety device sorry, what you will have to do is remove the spark plugs and with a socket and bar on the crank shaft front bolt, see if the engine will turn over, if not I feel that it will be seized.
