2004 Hyundai Santa Fe Oil Leak

The strangest thing happened to me tonight...There was a funny burning smell that sorrounded my 2004 hyundia santa fe. I got on the highway and the car began to jerk.Eventually I couldnt excell.Strange huh?I looke down the ground and oil was everywhere!I drove it back home and oil was all over the ground when I parked it! Please help me to identify the problem!

Hi there,

I would check that the oil filter and the sump plug were still fitted and tight, next would be the oil pressure switch, you will have to wash it down and re fill the oil and run and check for leaks, at the rate it has lost oil it should not be hard to locate.
