It starts so it's not the starter, it ran so it's not the battery or alternator, so what other insanely expensive item could need to be replaced?

I reversed the jumer cables and it now we've replaced the alternator and battery which worked for about 1 1/2 days and it died while driving it.
It starts so it's not the starter, it ran so it's not the battery or alternator, so what other insanely expensive item could need to be replaced?
