Hi

Hi-octane fuel was put into tank (6 months ago). Car ran ok, but developed 'knocking' noise from engine bloc. Power output was ok-no smoke. Knocking noise ceased after a while. Took car to Hyundai dealer, they could find no fault-would have to check timing & take it from there. Had timing checked by independant mechanic-all ok. Developed loss of power from standing start and uphills, increased fuel consumption. Have changed spark plugs to NGK's, changed oil & filter, changed air filter & checked fuel filter. Power loss is so severe that car will not make it up hills or reverse up incline.
Have been unable to locate a repair manual anywhere to check a possible blocked sensor. 4 different mechanics have 'looked' at the car and all stated different possible solutions. Have spent over £400 trying to get a diagnosis & still no joy.
Any experience of this particular problem and where to start fixing it would be greatfully appreciated.

Am willing to give donation for helpfull advice :-)

Try loosening the exhaust before the cat converter, If it is partially plugged the car will run ok. Has anyone tried to run a diagnostic scan on the computer? Is the engine mechanically sound (compression)
