2001 Hyundai Elantra hiss noise when I accerlerate

When I accerlerate my car it makes this hiss almost air noise but doesnt do it when the car is idling it just does it when its accerlerated also I had one incident when my car wouldnt go past 40mph on the interstate it just revved up and the rpms were high my car also struggles to go up hills any answers are appreciated

Hi acazz,

It is difficult for us to tell you what might cause the hissing noise as we are not able to determine the source. Does it happen when revving up?

When rpm is high but car is not speeding up, it should be the trans not up-shifting or is slipping. Check the ATF level, low level can cause slipping and damages if used over a period of time.
