I recently had my oil changed; since then I have been hearing a grinding noise when I am driving. It seems like its coming from the front passenger side tire. Its not very loud, but I am worried. I do need front breaks, could that be the issue? Or perhaps the axle bearings are failing? How much will that cost? Thanks!

Cost is contingent on finding the problem. It may as simple as a dust sheild rubbing on the rotor.

Does the noise change when turning or braking?

How long since the brakes were last done?

The noise doesn't change when turning or breaking. Brakes were done about 45,000 miles ago. They don't squeak every time I break, but most of the time.

I just realized what the noise reminds me of. You know the sound a jug or large bottle makes when you blow into it? That's what it sounds like. Thanks!

You need to pull that wheel and look at the brakes. They are most likely worn.
