2008 Hyundai Accent starter

Wife and mother in law both have a 08 Hyundai Accent. Both cars are having trouble with starter, it drags sometimes when its hot and sometimes when cold. They have never failed to start but they drag sometimesmcould the starters be worn out this soon?

I don't have your answer but maybe you could help me out. Have a light on my dashboard and I don't know what it means. I do not have a manual, but the light is yellow, it has an exclamation point in the center with parenthesis around it and it looks like a water level sign underneath. What is that telling me?
