2006 Hyundai Accent MPG

I am only getting 18mpg, they claim over 30mpg, how can I get that too? Is there something I should have checked?

Its been 2yrs has passed by-maybe a major tune-up/airfilter/PCV valve/Fuel filter/oxygen sensors.
