Transmission problem
2004 Hyundai Accent Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My Odometer. Went out.(First) 2 days later (iam assuming thats its the transmission) its automatic transmission, it would stay in first gear, and when the dark cloud over my head: it would Reverse, and sometimes drives on (1st gear?) < i ve been asking questions online. About the speedometer. Saying that it puts it on? SafeMode? And that it (temp> shuts down the transmission.
My concern is that. Should I pay for a Transmission rebuild? Or should I get the Speedometer fixed? I really dont want to pay for a trans. If its just a simple speedometer. IN THE FUTURE I HOPE THEY INSTALL.>BLACK-BOXES< ON VEHICLE LIKE AIRCRAFT. OH U.S. .

Hi there,

I would suggest that you first get a transmission test and report done by a qualified trans specialist, I feel that your problems are transmission related and the speedo is a secondary problem, start here.
