2002 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I was wondering why my car burns oil. I just had a tune up done about two weeks ago and I just added a couple of quarts of oil.

Hi jessesr,

When an engine gets older, seals and oil rings wears and oil will get past them resulting in consumption of the oil.

Another possibility was that the oil was not filled to the correct level when it was replaced. After topping up, monitor the level to see if it eally is being burnt up.

Check for oil leaks as sometimes the draiin plug gasket might be bad.
