2001 Hyundai Accent valve cover, gasket and stems

Considering purchasing this vehicle. Seller says that car smokes a little at first due to the valve cover and replacing the gaskets and stems would fix this and would not cost much. Does this sound accurate? How much should this cost?

Hi:
If the valve cover is leaking, it's not a big job. The parts should be under 20 bucks and the labor shouldn't exceed 1 hour.
