hi, my check engine light was on so i went to auto zone, they check and said it was "throttle positioning sensor". my symptoms are:: my rpm bounce from 1 to 3.5, at times even when i stop for a light. and my car now sucks gas like i own an oil well. is this from the sensor? and can i replace this myself , if so how difficult?

Could be the TPS its located on the throttle body, mark it before you remove it for easy installation/position
