What kind of brakes do a 2000 hyundai accent have on front and back? My brakes are very weak, and as of late they have been grinding when I hit the brakes. Which kind of brakes are these? How do I replace? Is this something I can do myself? Or do I need mechanic tools to do it? Thank you for your help.

You have front disc and rear drum. Yes, you can do it yourself. You will need a 3/8" ratchet, metric socket set and a metric wrench set. You can get a decent tool set with what you need from your local auto parts store for about $50. Rear drum brake is more involved than the front disc. You will need a couple of other tools for that. Invest $20 on a Haynes or Chilton manual to guide you.
