2003 Hummer H2 Engine Knocking Noise

Hi I hear a knocking noice or maybe its a ticking noise im not exactly sure but it happens when after I start the engine and when the engine idles and the noise happens and it has oil and it come and goes when the engine heats up. What could it be and how to fix it?

At first guess, it could have an exhaust leak at either the left or right side rear port. By rear I refer to #7 or #8 cylinder. Often times a bolt breaks and has to be extracted. It could have a catalytic converter coming apart causing a rattle, also. Just a couple guesses.
