I removed two bolts from the coil pack. One holding the spark plug wires on and the other on the coil pack. I cannot feel anymore bolts attached to coil pack. I know the coil pack is attached to the ignition control module but it will not come out. What is holding it on? Is it somehow locked on to the control module?

Good afternoon.

There are three bolts to remove for the module. Once out then you can remove the coils.

Roy

Removal:

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect DIS electrical connectors.
3. Disconnect spark plug wires. (Note proper relationship of wires to coils).
4. Remove DIS assembly to block bolts (3).
5. Remove DIS assembly from engine.

Installation:

1. Install DIS assembly to engine.
2. Install DIS assembly to block bolts (3). Torque to 20-30 N-m (15-22 lbs ft).
3. Connect spark plug wires to proper coils.
4. Connect DIS electrical connectors.
5. Connect negative battery cable.

Take a bright LED light and look around there. It is there. I believe the one on the corner is the issue. The wire harness gets in the way.

Replying to this thread from last year, still having a misfire and I replaced them during may 2018. I need to check resistance of each coil.

Can you provide me with factory information procedure on how to test primary coil resistance and test secondary coil resistance?

Thanks

Hello again.

Can you tell me if you have the system that has all the coils in one pack or if they are single coils? They made 2 different systems.

They are single coils, but attach in 3 on the ICM.

Okay, I attached the specs for you for checking the ignition coil resistances.

If the readings are off, I suggest replacing both the coils and the module together.
