1982 Buick Regal 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i recently replaced the motor on my buick regal, after I got it in and all hooked up and tried to start it im not getting any power to the ignition coil, ive replaced the coil, and tested the ignition control module. The motor cranks fine, do you think the ignition switch is bad?

Hello, did you check for primary voltage to the coil? Is the coil in the cap? If it is, one of the smaller wires, that plug into the cap, it may be labeled B+, should go hot when you turn on the key. If the coil is remote from the dist, check the + terminal with the key on.

That feed does come from the switch, can't tell if wiring circuit or switch.

The primary B+ to the coil goes hot when you turn the key on, you don't have to crank it.

If there is a small pink wire at the distributor cap, check for voltage, key on.

Put a brand new distributor in the car, still nothing. Is there a fuse in the fuse box for the ignition? How does the distibutor get its power so I can test wires to see if I got power all the way back.

You see the pink wire, goes hot when you turn on the key. The feed to the ignition switch is probably a fusible link.
