Alternator removal Instructions please?

Where is the bottom bolt on the alternator? And how do you take it off? I have everything else off but the last bottom screw.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com. You did not indicate an engine size, so I will provide directions for both with pictures to help locate items. Please check the diagrams below.

The first is for the 2.4L (pictures 1-4)

REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
Alternator Removal and Installation

Removal

1. Battery Terminal - Disconnect
Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure See: BatteryService and RepairProcedures.
2. Drive Belt - Remove
Remove the drive belt See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive BeltService and Repair.
3. Drive Belt Auto-Tensioner - Remove
Remove the drive belt auto-tensioner See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive Belt TensionerService and RepairRemoval and Replacement.
4. Alternator - Remove
Remove the harness clamps (A).
Disconnect the alternator connector (B) and the positive alternator cable (C).
Remove the alternator.
Installation

1. Alternator - Install
Install the alternator.
Connect the alternator connector (A) and the positive alternator cable (B). Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the alternator when you connect it.
Install the harness clamps (C).
2. Drive Belt Auto-Tensioner - Install
Install the drive belt auto-tensioner See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive Belt TensionerTesting and Inspection.
3. Drive Belt - Install
Install the drive belt See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive BeltService and Repair.
4. Battery Terminal - Connect

Alternator Removal and Installation
Removal
1. Battery Terminal - Disconnect
2. Drive Belt - Remove
Remove the drive belt See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive BeltService and Repair.
3. Drive Belt Auto-Tensioner - Remove
Remove the drive belt auto-tensioner See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive Belt TensionerService and RepairRemoval and Replacement.
4. Radiator and A/C Condenser Fan Shroud - Remove
Remove the radiator and the A/C condenser fan shrouds See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustCooling SystemRadiatorService and RepairRadiator And A/C Condenser Fan, Motor, And Shroud Removal And Installation.
5. Alternator Connector and Positive Alternator Cable - Disconnect
Disconnect the alternator connector (A), the A/C compressor clutch connector (B), and the positive alternator cable (C).
Remove the harness clamp (D) and the bolt (E) securing the harness holder.
6. Alternator - Remove
Remove the alternator.
Installation
1. Alternator - Install
Install the alternator.
2. Alternator Connector and Positive Alternator Cable - Connect
Install the bolt (A) securing the harness holder.
Connect the alternator connector (B), the A/C compressor clutch connector (C), and the positive alternator cable (D). Make sure the crimped side of the ring terminal faces away from the alternator when you connect it.
Install the harness clamp (E).
3. Radiator and A/C Condenser Fan Shroud - Install
Install the radiator, and the A/C condenser fan shrouds See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustCooling SystemRadiatorService and RepairRadiator And A/C Condenser Fan, Motor, And Shroud Removal And Installation.
4. Drive Belt Auto-Tensioner - Install
Install the drive belt auto-tensioner See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive Belt TensionerService and RepairRemoval and Replacement.
5. Drive Belt - Install
Install the drive belt See: Engine, Cooling and ExhaustEngineDrive BeltService and Repair.
6. Battery Terminal - Connect
