How to get the belts off to change water pump

I just baught an oldsmobile cutlass and it needs a water pump but I dont see how to get the belts off. Pleas help im not to familiar with older cars

Yo need to be a little more specific as to which model Cutlass and which engine you have.

There are 3 different 6 cylinder engines available for that car so you need to be more specific.
3.0, 3.8, or 4.3. Don't guess.

The pulley in the upper left of this picture is a spring loaded tensioner. Rotate it clockwise to release belt.
