Not possible to change it unless you remove the transmission and tear it apart. It is bolted to the face of the pump inside the case. The most you can do is change the fluid. Another JATCO "sealed for life" transmission. But be careful. There is a plug that looks like a drain but is really an internal band attachment point. Remove it and the trans has to be torn down to put it back together.

First picture shows the do not touch me plug. Second is the drain and the third is the fill level plug.

Thanks for the reply and pictures. I had found what I suspected was the drain plug and you confirmed that. I had not located or researched the fill level plug, thanks again for showing that.
I assume the rubber plug on top of the side pan is the fill hole and one fills it until it comes out the fill level plug?
I was planning on pulling the side cover to access and evaluate the "2-4 duty brake duty solenoid" because the vehicle has code P1748 which I have read is "EPC malfunction" and has led me to that solenoid. Also it flashes F then four repeatedly on the instrument cluster
I figure it's probably due for a fluid change anyways.
My daughter bought the vehicle a few months ago w/250,000 kms on it, so we have no history on it. I can tell that the transmission side pan has been removed and replaced previously. (Rtv)
Also, what type of fluid is needed for this transmission? Is Dexron III okay?

The fill plug is in the second image. It would be where a dip stick would normally be installed. The level plug is on the side of the transmission, two types were used both shown below.

The proper fluid is Texaco N402 or the newer Texamatic 7045E
As you cannot do a full drain on them it is best not to mix the fluids.

You said "The level plug is on the side of the transmission, " but the pictures show it on the bottom of the transmission. I do not understand how a fill level plug can be on the bottom of the transmission.

The fill plug is up top. The level plug is on the bottom to one side and has a tube that threads into the hole above it. The tube sticks into the case about 2" When you fill the trans you just add until it goes over the tube and comes out the fill plug.

Sorry about the typo.
