I want to know how to change my chain tensioner. I mostly want to know if there are any special instructions when taking it off and installing.
Do you
have the same problem?

There are not any unique instructions but there are things that need to be done to ensure you don't have an issue after. They are laid out in these instructions. Let me know if you need more info and I will see what I can find to answer those questions. Thanks

Sorry. I don't have a picture of your engine showing the location however, they should be in about the same place which is on the fronts of the camshafts. The picture may not be your engine because the service manual didn't give options of engines. I didn't notice it was different however, the directions call out the specific differences in the directions. If you look at the attachment, I circled the 271.8 steps. So you follow all the steps except those that say they are for a different engine.

I think you have the 271 engine correct? If so the alternator torque specs are included. I put them all there but made sure 271 was included.

So you replaced the tensioner and now it rattles? Was it rattling before?

Unfortunately there is not much you can do but remove it and replace it. However, if it was rattling before and all you replaced was the tensioner, you may have a larger issue.

I attached the processes for camshafts and timing chains and guides. I am not a big fan of these manuals because they are not streamline. However, it appears it is all there.
