How Do I Replace the Fuel Pump and Filter?

FLEX’s fuel pump is still working but is causing the fuel pump relay to ¹overheat (relay’s fuse box terminal receptacle is no longer gripping tightly, so I am installing another under rear seat ²fuse box).

I am also replacing the fuel pump (via access through the trunk) and understand that can be done without removing the tank. Is this correct, AND just as importantly, is the fuel filter part of the fuel pump assembly?


¹N.B. I have already done the GM technical service bulletin “grind off 5 mm from rear seat latch.”
