Hello,
I have the car listed above (SOHC) and looking to replace a hose myself. I have attached a photo and the hose runs from back of the engine on the left side to the right. I am not sure it is a hose that is correct for the engine as it was rubbing up against a larger hose. I can send more photos as well. Thanks, Adrianne

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Based on the picture, that is a molded heater or bypass hose. Can you upload where the hose attaches on the opposite side?

Also, a molded hose is specifically designed for its surroundings. It really is not uncommon for them to touch other hoses or components. If you see a place of concern, cover it with a hose sleeve. Basically, it sleeves over a hose and is designed to protect hoses where they tough. Most parts stores should have it and it is not expensive.

If possible, send me the other picture so I have a better understanding of what hose you are dealing with. However, I have a feeling it is the correct hose.

Take care,
Joe

Hi Joe,

Thanks so much for the reply. I was able to find the exact hose through RockAuto.

And it is a heater hose, I am not sure if it was the original with my car or not. I did go ahead and attach more photos for the fun of it. :-) Thanks!

Hi again:

I am glad you got it taken care of, and thanks for the added pictures. They will help someone else in the future.

The hose is original. Were you able to get the new one on and everything working again?

Let me know.

Take care,
Joe

Hey Joe,

I did get the new one on which went well. Have another hurtle that I had to call reinforcements since it is way beyond my simple skill level. Involves the fuel injectors staying open. I recently had a code for P0191 Fuel Rail Pressure sensor so wondering if that had anything to do with it. Engines been replaced at 170,000 miles back in 2012 and it is at 277,000 now. Had the transmission rebuilt last year as well. It has been a great little work car and just hoping I can get a bit more life out of it before upgrading. :-).

Thanks!
Adrianne

Hi and welcome back:

I hate to ask, but I need you to start a new thread. The owners are trying to keep topics separated. I will watch for your post.
