Horrible grinding noise when idling

My car started grinding whenever it idled, it still does, but now I hear the noise when I drive down the road too. I need this car. What is wrong with her?

Take the belt off and start car see if noise is still there, if it is not then it is an accessory like belt/tensioner alternator etc. Making the noise. If you still have it have a mechanic check it out as it may be a cam/valve train problem.
