2 step flywheel.

I am putting an engine in a '90 prelude, I ordered a new clutch and had the flywheel turned, it is a 2 step flywheel. After I picked it up I noticed they had not measured and machined the disc side surface and the stepped surface the same height as it was when I brought it in, in fact they cut almost all of the stepped part off. It was about 5 millimeters high before and now its about 1 millimeter. My question is will this be a problem? Willthe clutch work like this or did they ruin my flywheel? Thanks Just2fast.

Can I ask you where you got this 2 step flywheel and what's the purpose for it and when was it produced? I've been working on cars for 38 yrs never heard of it.

Maybe something might learn from.

The '90 Prelude I am working on has never been apart, the stock flywheel has a raised portion around the friction surface (where the disc contacts), this is where the pressure plate bolts onto the flywheel. So the raised area is one step and the friction surface is another. Maybe it would be more accurately described just as a "stepped flywheel" I am hearing it referred to both ways.
