Hi mattyp,
If the idling speed is too high, it would cause that.
Possible causes are:
1. Idling speed adjusted too high.
2. Leaking vacumn, PCV, vacumn hoses etc.
3. Faulty or stuck IAC.
4. Lack of coolant in system.
5. Clogged coolant hoses to IAC
