I have a really bad oil leak that I think is coming from the crank shaft. I leaks when the car is running but not when it is off. At idle it runs smooth but on acceleration it knocks. There is no noticeable power loss. #1 How do I get the crank pulley off? #2 How can I find out what is knocking without tearing the motor down?
Any assistance would be great>

Hi focusguy,

The crankpulley central bolt is torqued at 150 ft/lbs and getting it off will allow the pulley to come off. Of course you need to remove the beltings.

Knocking during acceleration might be caused by worn con rod bearings.

You need to figure what is wrong before attempting to dismantle anything.
