I have a 1995 h22a vtec prelude im looking at buying from a guy I think I got an idea of what it is the car bought lifters adjusted and he was driving it home heard a knocking sound when he got home now he has oil leaking from the manifold where it connectes for the exhaust piping is it a bad block or just lifers? As far as my mechanical skills im thinking just lifters need to be adjusted im a mechanic my self so im just needing some input on what it might be. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi sidestudios,

Bad lifters would not cause oil leaking. Did you verify where the oil is leaking from?

Yes it is leaking where the manifold meets for the rest of the exhaust that is the only place and its knocking.

Is the leak bad? Ie. Continously or just damp?

Does knocking noise sound as if some one is hammering something?

Any smoke or oil being splashed while engine is running around the leaks?
