1992 Honda Prelude weird idle

I have a 92 honda prelude si h23a1 with 163024 and last week it started to idle weird the idle starts at 750rpm then climbs to 2000rpm then drops back down and it keeps doing this my friends said to clean out the control valve.I have also check all the vaccum lines and they are good and there are no engine codes. Any help would be great. Shop here want too much money to just look at the car

Hi babyward85,

Check the coolant level in radiator. Low coolant or clogging of the hoses to the IAC and FITV would cause the problem. You have a vacumn leakage and possible areas are :

1. Brake booster.
2. PCV valve.
3. Fast Idle Thermo Valve.
4. Faulty IAC.
