1989 Honda Prelude Surging or missing

My mileage dropped from 30 mpg to 25 mpg. While driving at 60 mph, the engine sounds and feels like it is changing between the two top gears like it is unsure which one to go into. It does not happen all the time but often enough to where it feels like a miss or surge.

Information provided is rather vague so we are unable to provide much suggestions.

I believe you need to check the trans throttle cable adjustment and spark plugs for misfiring.
