When I attempt to start my car, it is as if the battery is discharged. Even when I try to jump it, it still cranks very slowly. When I turn the key to start the car, the engine cranks very slow and weak. It does that a few times and finally engages. If it is very cold outside the car will not start, even with a boost. It does this when it is hot outside also.

I have also noticed that I am using a little more fuel than usual, but it could be from the cold weather.

I change the battery and it started a little better for about 2 days. I am not sure if it is the starter or starter solenoid or something else.

Thank you for your help.

Have helper put key to start position and bang on the starter if it engages the engiine-starter has a problem. Get the starter current draw checked. The overrunning clutch could be slipping.

I had my helper (4 year old niece) put the key in the start position and banged on it. It fired up so I changed the starter and everything is perfect.

Thank you very much for your help and quick response.

I will be making my well deserved donation.
