Hi - My Honda dealership mechanic told me that to fix my head gasket problem, it would cost me $3,000. They would throw in a timing belt and water pump at the same time for that price, but I don't need those because I had them replaced recently when another mechanic was doing work cuz he was in there anyway. What is a fair price for replacing the head gaskets? This seems outrageus to me (plus, I just can 't afford it).

Can you give me an idea?

Thanks

That is a relatively decent price, it all depends on where you live, if you live out in the country expect about 2-3grand if you live in the city you can expect 3-4grand and if they change hte belt and pump for that, id say its a good deal.

It wouldnt be hard to do yourself if your slightly mechanically inclined.
