2000 Honda Odyssey transmission interlock

My car will start but I cannot get it out of park. The brake lights work fine and the brake switch is ok. Do thise cars have a particular problem. The park interlok selenoid? Is there a scanner I can by cheap to tell me all the values of the components?

Do you hear a click when you press the brake pedal?
Check for objects on the shifter, I have seen rubber bands and hair bands hanging on the shifter and falls inside and jammed the shift lock
