A couple of days ago it was difficult to get our 1999 Honda Odyssey EX out of park, now it won't go back into park even using the interlock override. We put in neutral to start and it shifts into other positions easily. The brake lights work and we can remove the key despite not being in park, the power doors have to be opened manually. Could the problem be in the column, I'm going to try to get to the range switch soon.

Hi penjack,

Thank you for the donation.

Check if the brake lights are working. If they don't work, check fuse # 47 ( 20A) in underhood fuse box.

The other problem would be the shift column. Most likely the shift interlock solenoid is seized preventing the gear shift from being shifted into park. This would in turn disable the power sliding door and key interlock functions.
