2003 Honda Element keyless entry

The keyless entry is not working properly. When locking, it will only lock the passenger side and the hatch door. When unlocking, it will not unlock any door, the key must be used. We tried changing the battery on the keyless remote but still will not work.

It could be a faulty driver's door lock actuator

That's what I thought. Now my next dumb question is: is the actuator the same as the solenoid? In comparing prices to order the part, I found one vendor calls it actuator and the other a solenoid - the parts look similar. Thx!
