Hi there,
I had a service for my honda delsol about 3 months ago. Last week I checked the oil, and surprisingly it was very low. The exaust seemed normal. No smoke coming out and this week I didnt notice any oil dripping.

is there any way I can figure out why I am losing oil?
today I had to refill the oil tank to the normal marking of the dipstick.

thanks in advance!

Hi nathan300,

For an engine of this age, there should be some oil consumption via the vlave seals. When this happens, there would be minimal smoke as the catalytic converter would clear out most of it. The only time you would notice smoke would be early morning starting and only for a short while.

During thise 3 months, what was the milreage travelled?

The job for valve seal replacement is listed at nearly 8 hours which requires removal of cylinder head. I do not have the price listing for the valve grind kit.

Above job is from factory manual but check around and there might be someone who can do the job without removing the cylinder head. You would only need to replace the valve seals and valve cover gaskets. Job can be accomplished in a shorter time with much less expenditure.

Hi there, lately I questioned you about an oil decresing problem in my honda delsol.

Today I started the car after 2 days not using it , and I noticed that when I started the car, oil splashed out from the exaust, and small amount of white smoke came out when I pressed the gas.

I hope this is not a big problem to repair. Any advice?

Thanks and take care

If you are not having any performance, idling, overheating and coolant losses issues, then the problem should be as I suspected.

Valve stem seals worn and requires replacement.

Hi again
i have a problem with a new vehicle :)

my 2003 vitz had poor ezelaration problems and poor performance while driving. The check engine indicator began to light on my dash board and I deceided to install a new air flow sensor. When I installed it the engine had good performance and ezelaration but it began stalling, esspecially when the engine was cold. With the old sensor it didnt stall once.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance
nathan

Did you retrieve the trouble code for the CEL showing?

What is the engine and transmission type of your vehicle?

The engine is automatic.
I didn't do anything else. I just removed the old air flow sensor and installed a new one. Now it is beginning to stall when the car is stopped, but the performance and acceleration improved when driving.

If the Check Engine Light is showing, get a scan done to retrieve the trouble code so we can understand the peoblem better.

Another thing to do is to clean the throttle body ans IAC with carb cleaner and check if the idling speed improves.
