CRV locked in park

My wife was driving our 2006 Honda CR-V 4wd tonight and called me saying the dash lights had gone out. (It has AT, a 2.4 liter engine and about 54,000 miles.) Later she called from her cousin's house saying the shift wouldn't go out of park. I went over to see and she showed me the owner's manual instructions to bypass the park lock on the shifter. I replaced the dash light fuse, followed the manual instructions and drove the car home. I noticed the cruise control wouldn't work either. I suspect this isn't a coincidence, but couldn't find a fuse for the cruise or anything in the manual about if the cruise won't go on. Of course, I have to defeat the park interlock whenever I start the car, because it won't shut down or release the key unless it's in park. Any ideas?

If there's a problem with the brake switch it will do both the cruise control and taking it out of park.

Try the shiftlock solenoid located below
